Pam Van Dop grew up in Calgary, Alberta – playing street hockey with the neighborhood boys, watching lightning storms roll over the prairie skies, nerding out in school developing an insatiable hunger for all sorts of learning (except the clarinet). She was that annoying inquisitive girl that wouldn’t stop asking questions about how things worked, why some things didn’t work, and what/who was really in charge of this phenomenally large universe.
She moved to Iowa to attend Dordt College (now called Dordt University) to become a physics teacher, but stumbled into the fascinating world of theology and graduated after 4 years with a triple major in Physics, General Science, and Theology and a completed Pre-Seminary Program. It was during these crazy years that Pam also learned how to work a sound board, write and record music, spend Spring Break at a monastery, run through corn fields without getting lost, and pronounce the word “roof” and “semi” in the many American dialects.
She moved to Surrey, BC to work first at a church and then became a high school science and Bible teacher. Then, the best love story unfolded as she met and married Nolan. They moved to Abbotsford and are in the glorious process of raising three beautiful kids. Pam loves speaking about her passions: spirituality, God’s love, and reconnecting to the Source of Life when we feel fragmented. Pam teaches middle school math and science and feeds her learning addiction with reading in the evenings.
